When did you commit to an alcohol-free lifestyle?
I have been alcohol free for almost 4 years!! The decision came to me after I noticed that I could keep up with my husband’s alcohol consumption, although he is twice my size! I tried to cut back before my wedding and noticed it was difficult for me, which was a concern. Finally, I read the book Quit Like a Woman, which completely switched something in my brain, and I no longer wanted alcohol.
Name an unexpected joy since going alcohol-free.
An unexpected joy I experienced since going alcohol free is always being the DD. There’s something beautiful about saying, “Let me take the keys,” that makes me feel proud to be committed to the safety of myself and my loved ones.
Name a hard part about being alcohol-free.
Something difficult about being alcohol free is missing my red wine. Although I have found more appropriate ways to relax (yoga and reading), I get major FOMO from others having a glass of red wine.

Advice for anyone considering going alcohol-free:
Reach out to me!! Find friends who are sober curious/serious. Read that book!!! And never question the decision.
